Apparently the doodles have finally snapped, and now your perfectly innocent notebook has become a full-scale ink emergency. Grab one of three quirky heroes and fight your way through five hand-drawn worlds, including Fresh Page, Graph Paper, Sticky Note, Blueprint, and Midnight Chalk, with each area bringing its own boss fight and collection of wonderfully odd enemies. The action has that satisfying Vampire Survivors-style survival feel, but with a stationery-shop fever dream aesthetic, so expect ink blots, tiny mites, highlighter hornets, and other creatures that look like they escaped from the margins of someone's very busy notebook. Your build revolves around six weapons that can be upgraded and merged all the way to tier 3, with secret evolutions waiting for players who enjoy experimenting with combinations and discovering what happens when perfectly reasonable office supplies become weapons of mass doodling. Between runs, you can bank Ink and spend it on permanent shop upgrades, giving the game a useful sense of progression rather than making every defeat feel like being sent back to detention. There are 12 badges to chase and a Codex to fill, so completionists have plenty of reasons to poke around beyond simply surviving until the next boss. Three difficulty settings, Chill, Normal, and Nightmare, let you choose between a more relaxed romp and a considerably less forgiving scribble apocalypse, while the seeded Daily Doodle run gives you a fresh challenge built around the same conditions for another reason to come back. Controls are pleasantly uncomplicated: use WASD or the arrow keys to move, drag on touch devices if you're playing on a phone or tablet, and hit Space or tap to dash when something particularly unpleasant gets too close. The game also starts without a fussy menu ritual, so you can get straight into the action. And for a little notebook trivia, paper was invented in China more than 1,900 years ago, which means humanity has had an absurdly long time to cover perfectly innocent sheets with increasingly questionable doodles. If you like roguelike games, casual action games, bullet-heaven survival, quirky cartoon enemies, or the simple satisfaction of watching a build evolve into something unexpectedly ridiculous, there is plenty here to scribble about.
