The yellow wallpaper is ugly, the fluorescent lights are buzzing, and naturally, there is no helpful little concierge waiting around to point you toward the exit. Instead, you are trapped in the infamous Backrooms, a maze of strangely familiar rooms and corridors where every turn seems designed to make you question whether you've actually gone anywhere. Explore the unsettling environment in first-person view, search rooms for useful items and keys, investigate suspicious corners, and solve puzzles while trying to work out a route through the seemingly endless maze. The controls are simple enough to learn quickly, with movement handled through the usual keyboard controls and an on-screen interface providing useful information as you explore. Keep your eyes open for doors, clues, objects, and anything that looks slightly out of place, because in a Backrooms-style horror game, slightly out of place is basically the equivalent of a flashing neon warning sign. The atmosphere leans into the same lonely, liminal horror that made games such as Escape the Backrooms and the original Backrooms-inspired indie games so popular, with a little Silent Hill-style unease thrown into the mix. There is no glamorous haunted mansion here, just stained carpet, repetitive hallways, ominous rooms, and the deeply unpleasant suspicion that something may be nearby. The goal is straightforward: explore, survive, solve what needs solving, and find the way out before the maze gets the better of you. A fun bit of Backrooms trivia is that the whole concept grew from an internet image and a short piece of creepypasta rather than an established horror franchise, turning an ordinary-looking yellow room into one of the internet's most recognizable modern horror settings. So if you enjoy creepy escape games, liminal spaces, first-person exploration, puzzle solving, and horror adventures that make an ordinary hallway feel suspiciously threatening, this one offers a suitably strange little trip into the yellow maze.
