Mine Keeper

Running a dwarven kingdom is apparently less about sitting on a magnificent throne and more about keeping everyone fed, housed, employed, and alive, which feels suspiciously like management with better beards. Start by building up your town and collecting fruit to sell for the money needed to feed your growing population, then improve homes, construct useful facilities, and decide where your resources should go next. You can invest in the peaceful side of kingdom life by hiring farmers and expanding your settlement, or put some of your hard-earned cash toward an army of dwarves who can protect your people and venture into the dangerous mines below. Mining is where things get particularly interesting, because the underground is packed with valuable stones and glittering gems, but it also happens to contain monsters that are not especially impressed by your economic development plan. Take your troops along when exploring so your miners have some muscle nearby when trouble shows up. As your little kingdom becomes more prosperous and better known, new residents will move in, giving you more workers to manage and more opportunities to expand. The top-down 3D view keeps the action easy to follow while you balance town building, resource management, farming, hiring, exploration, and light combat. If you enjoy management games, kingdom builders, mining games, or the cheerful fantasy chaos of titles like Stardew Valley, The Settlers, or the old-school charm of classic dwarven fantasy, there is plenty here to keep your attention. And yes, the whole thing has the classic fantasy formula of tiny people, enormous underground riches, and creatures lurking in the dark, because apparently no civilization can simply have a nice basement. Fun fact: real miners once used canaries as early-warning systems for dangerous gases, because the birds were more sensitive to toxic air than humans and could signal trouble before the miners were seriously affected. Fortunately, your dwarves have a slightly more conventional solution: bring the soldiers.
