Monster Cafe and Cute: Idle Tycoon
Created by: AleksV02
Running a cafe is hard enough when your customers are human, but apparently ghosts, vampires, zombies and slimes also expect excellent service and a decent cup of coffee. Fortunately, this charming little haunted cafe has plenty of personality, a generous supply of pumpkin muffins and absolutely no interest in rushing you through your shift. Your job is to serve adorable monster customers, tap their orders, collect coins and tips, and gradually turn a tiny woodland cafe into a thriving supernatural hospitality empire. Upgrade your spooky kitchen machines to prepare treats more efficiently, hire monster waiters to keep things running smoothly, and enjoy the lovely convenience of having your staff serve customers even when you're away. That's right, an entire workforce of supernatural employees who don't seem to mind overtime. As your business grows, you can unlock five beautifully illustrated locations, each with its own atmosphere and collection of unusual visitors: Crooked Cafe, Graveyard Terrace, Witch's Greenhouse, Castle Crypt and Sunken Shipwreck. There are 20 collectible monsters to discover, complete with cute little pets, plus 20 different machines that can be upgraded all the way to golden level 100. Keep an eye out for special golden guests, too, as they help fill your 60-sticker collection album. If collecting achievements is your particular weakness, there are 28 trophies to earn, along with daily treats, tasks and lucky bats offering extra reasons to check in. Once you've built up your cafe empire, the Full Moon Move prestige system gives you another reason to start fresh and grow even bigger, with the Moon Shop providing additional goodies along the way. There's a satisfying mix of idle management, incremental upgrades, collecting and light strategy here, making it a lovely choice if you enjoy cozy tycoon games like Adventure Capitalist, idle business simulators or the cheerful management side of games like Good Pizza, Great Pizza, only with considerably more paranormal customers. The artwork has a sweet Halloween storybook quality, somewhere between a cute Studio Ghibli-inspired fantasy and a particularly friendly episode of The Nightmare Before Christmas. And here's a fun little historical tidbit for your next coffee break: the word 'cafe' comes from the French 'café', which itself comes from the Turkish 'kahve' (kah-veh), meaning coffee. Coffeehouses became popular gathering places in 17th-century Europe, where people met to exchange gossip, discuss politics and generally put the world to rights. Clearly, even the undead appreciate a good social venue. Best of all, this is a genuinely relaxed idle game, with no punishing timers or stressful consequences for stepping away. Play at your own pace, build your collection, spoil your monster customers and watch your peculiar little business flourish. After all, everyone deserves a cozy place to hang out, even if they've technically been dead for 300 years.
